Its just a standard alarm that is quirky in light ensuring it will be heard in the morning. The volume setup and instructions are slightly confusing. Also, the alarm does not fade in like advertised and you get to pick from 3 gong noises to wake up to. In my opinion there is nothing relaxing or subtle when waking up to a loud gong.

I’ve tried everything but this app does not work. It doesn’t go off when set. Went to the creators website but can not find a way to get in touch with them. Very disappointed!!

Unfortunately, this really nice concept of a Zen alarm clock has some design flaws that make it effectively nonfunctional. It doesnt work unless your phone is active and The app is in the foreground. (so, if you were doing something like reading on your Kindle app as you went to sleep, this app wont to be active, and wont wake you up.) It doesnt work if your phone is in the "do not disturb" mode. So basically unless youre actively using your phone, this alarm clock wont wake you up. Wish I could find a way to get the money back guarantee – but that too seems to be a function that doesnt work.

This alarm did not work for me at all and I am having trouble getting the refund. I cannot recommend it.

Such poor execution here. Doesnt work if your phone is on DND (hello, isnt that a critical feature of an alarm app), randomly refuses to go off in the morning, and doesnt have great snooze functions (other alarms let you tap the phone). The alarm itself works but the app doesnt. Avoid.

I have an iPhone 6plus and have always used the standard alarm. This is much better. I never experienced any random failure to work and as someone else mentioned, most alarms will not go off if your phone is in the DND mode. My only complaint would be having to reset it every day. Wish there was a way to set it once and have it go off on specified days (ie Mon-Friday)

Randomly refuses to go off. Great concept but doesnt work when phone is silenced. I use it with a back up alarm.

Just purchased this, tried a test run, following all directions... No sound at all...

Love the sounds, hate the reliability or lack there of. I have tried everything I could to follow all the directions to make sure the alarm would sound. Unfortunately, most of the time, the app shows "Rise and shine" but no sound went off. When it works correctly, I get notifications banners(they are turned on) and the beautiful sound goes off. Most of the time however, theres no sound, no notification, and only inside the app does it show that it went off. I find that when you "test" it, it works just fine, but if you leave it set overnight, it doesnt work. I have made sure its the last app I see before turning off the screen. Tried emailing the developer, no response.

The app doesnt go off at all. Ive tried turning the ringer on and volume up and testing it. Ive set it for 11 minutes later and left it open and it still didnt work.

Difficult to use and understand. It is annoying how many settings on your phone need to be a certain way before turning in. Has made me late two mornings in a row. I hate this app.
